If you have never fished for Northern Pike, you are in for a treat; these ferocious fighters can really light up a rod and reel. These fish are the largest warm water predators in our systems. North Idaho Lakes are world renowned for their ability to grow BIG Northern Pike. Several fish each year top 30 pounds. The main reason that Lake Coeur d’Alene and Lake Pend Orielle produce big fish is the diversity in habitat and food base that allow these Northern Pike to thrive.
In spring (March thru early April) these fish are in a pre-spawn mode; and bait under a bobber is the most effective way to catch them. While not always the fastest fishing, it has produced the last 5 state records. The Pike spawn in mid-April after that they will actively chase lures. The majority of the summer they will stick to areas with weed growth. We tend to target the fresh weed growth deeper as the season progresses. We cast lures across the top and along the edges of these weed beds that the Pike are hiding in. Late summer and fall (Mid-August thru mid-November) provides some of the most consistent action of the year; the lakes are cooling and Pike become very aggressive.

A 50% deposit is required upon reservation. 7 day advance cancellation notice for deposit Refund. If a client cancels within 48 hours of a Charter or no shows, the full amount of the trip will be charged. Our cancellation policy applies to all situations; we are sorry we cannot afford to make exceptions for personal emergencies. Our trips run rain or shine so dress for the weather; cancellation due to rough water or weather are at Guide’s discretion. If a charter is canceled due to conditions and cannot be rescheduled a full refund will be issued.
An Idaho fishing license can be purchased prior to the trip at the Fins & Feathers Tackle Shop retail store. Unless otherwise arranged, all trips meet at the retail store.
